- Make sure the behavior problem is not a physical problem such as a bladder infection. See your veterinarian before starting a training routine
- Thoroughly clean any soiled spots in your home with an enzymatic cleaner to eliminate smells
- Leash him to you while in the house to prevent any accidents. If he starts to mess say “no” and bring him outside
- Put him in a crate whenever he is not on leash with you
- Take her out first thing in the morning, as soon as you get home from work and just before bed. Always give the “go” command and praise her when she goes

The most important things to keep in mind are that you need to be steady and consistent and that accidents happen. Continue to reprimand your dog as long as accidents happen but remember to praise him when he goes outside.
