Slowly switch from the halti to this collar (http://amzn.to/1BlaECA). This will help you to reinforce the good behavior on walks. It will also be beneficially in the house or back yard. It is a choke collar but it does not have an infinite choke but it still gets the point across. Good Luck!

hi, i read your article and it make complete sense but what do you do if you have an 8 month old boxer - we got her at 6 months - so i have to bring her for a daily walk now (only approx 30 mins). i have had to use a gentle leader on her (halti) as i just could not manage walking her. but i would like to train her like the article. what do i do while traingin her , when i still have to bring her for a daily walk - do i continue with gentle leader until she is trained to walk with a lead ?
would appreciate any practical advice
thankyou
