There are many reasons that boxers would be good at sports. But since we are beginning a new football season, I thought it would be fit to review some fantastic qualities boxers have that would make them great at playing American Football. What every coach looks for in terms of qualities for their players is their…
- Agility – need I say more. Boxers have the ability to change body’s position efficiently, and integrate isolated movement using a combination of balance, coordination, speed, strength, reflexes, and endurance.
- Dedication – If you have a Boxer than you already know they are extremely devoted to any task they decide they want to do. In addition, they have single-minded loyalty or integrity to their family (the way a football player feels about his team). Protection is another key element (the way a team protects its quarterback).
- Confidence – Boxers are self-assured and trustful (like a quarterback).
- Rebelliousness – We all know and have probably experienced how Boxers tend to break the rules. The way good defensive lineman show a desire to resist authority, control, or convention.
- Fearlessness – Boxers will try just about anything and rarely show pain. This is the quality of a receiver. And as we all know, once they fetch- they are reluctant to give the ball up.
- Toughness – Boxers are strong enough to withstand adverse conditions or rough or careless handling. They are strong and do not easily let up.
So the next time the receiver drops the ball, or defensive line allows a play through, or the quarterback takes a sack, and you are screaming “C’mon Man” -think about how your boxer would’ve handle the play!
Awesome article! Every point you mentioned is so true of a Boxer 🙂
