Meet Zya – Our Latest Little Tornado!

We are officially welcoming our new rescue girl, so we can share the daily boxer chaos.

Zya is a bouncy boxer puppy who’s basically pure energy in a brindle package. This girl arrived and immediately decided our house is her personal racetrack. Zoomies all day? Check. Stealing shoes like it’s her job? Double check. Trying to bust out of the house on the regular by opening doors? Oh yeah. She’s a total lunatic with that classic boxer puppy “I have no off switch” mode. We’ve already lost count of how many times we’ve said “Zya NO!” followed by cleaning up whatever mess she has made.

She came from a tough start (a story for a later time) but you wouldn’t know it now – running, jumping, and mostly no chill whatsoever.  When I say she is a runner – I also mean a flight “run away” boxer.
On Christmas Eve she ran away—slipped out somehow and took off down main street (the busy one with all the traffic) and kept running for miles. We were freaking out, calling her name, driving around trying to get her. By the blessing of God, she’s safe and unharmed. Thank goodness for that Apple AirTag we had on her collar—it literally saved the day. We got her back, no injuries, and we’ve been extra glued to her ever since.

She’s already super into playing with other dogs—rough play, chasing, wrestling, the whole thing. She jumps right in and loves every second of it.

And don’t get me started on her voice- boy does she use it.  I am not talking about the woowoo’s – I am talking about the barking, she is a barker! And she has decided protecting the house is her full-time job. She barks at every little thing: delivery guys, leaves, shadows, you name it. Annoyingly loud and proud, like she’s been doing this forever.

How we love this maniac is beyond me. Probably because she brings nonstop energy and so much love.

If you’re thinking about adding a boxer (or another one…) to your life, please consider rescue first. These pups have so much love to give once they get a real shot. Zya’s proof!
